Wilhelm Family Foundation Award
Since July of 2020, we've put in hours of ideating and visioning as well as outreach to community. We have also established a business framework for Contemporary Art League, including fiscal sponsorship with Fractured Atlas. We’ve applied for several grants over the past year and are proud to announce that we’ve received our first grant! The award of $10,000 from the Wilhelm Family Foundation will allow us to move forward with our first phase of programming and establish volunteer working groups to research and develop CAL’s services. Please join us in celebrating this major step in CAL’s growth! Read on for a few ways to help.
Volunteer Opportunities
Through ongoing one-on-one interviews with peers and in community conversations, we’ve so far identified three critical areas of need for art workers in Los Angeles County:
Healthcare
Child care
Access to capital
We’re currently establishing systems for volunteer working groups to research these ideas as we continue the administrative work of establishing Contemporary Art League as a cooperative. Volunteers will be asked to track their time in order to put this credit toward eventual membership in CAL.
Please email us directly if you’re interested in volunteering in one of these working groups.
Show up
We’ll be hosting a series of events in the coming months and look forward to seeing you there.
